Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actress. Her most famous role is in the role of Teri an ardent attorney Teri Jospehson on the Showtime show Soul Food. In the years following her marriage the actress is now known by the name Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an aptitude for acting in her childhood and received an award for the best Actress prize at the Maryland high school contest. Alongside her involvement at the theater as well as with The Washington Ballet Company.' She received the degree of Acting at New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought her a first-class role. After that, she appeared in films such as "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak". Contractor, who was born in Mumbai and was a resident of Nigeria during seven years experienced a variety of adventures and cultural encounters from very young. After attending boarding schools for seven years in London Her family then moved to Toronto Canada where she spent most of her youth and into early adulthood. Contractor was an outstanding scholar in Toronto and was trained as a classical ballet dancer. She went to the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special school for arts and sciences, which allowed her to not just take classes in theater but also performed as well. Contractor took the decision to study acting more seriously at the age 16 after almost 10 year of dance. After graduating high school, she accepted a full award to the University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in theatre and a double major in sociology and psychology. Contractor was offered the leading role in Pericles following a brief time at University. She was a part of the audition for it at Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. The play was well-received throughout the 92 productions she appeared in. She was awarded the award in 2002 for the best production of the Year, as judged by Canadian critics. Contractor was offered the opportunity to enroll in Stratford's conservatory, where the top eight men and four women are accepted to take a crash course of 20 weeks on classical theater which she eagerly took. The actress's spot in the next stage season was securing and she won the role in the play as Hermia.
